We only had 1 day in Venice – usually, I spend many hours researching any new destination before a visit, but due to pressure of work did not have the time this trip. What was the alternative? A private guide. Looking on the internet, I found Rossana’s site – liked what I saw and booked a 2 hour guided tour (unfortunately, she was already booked for the morning of that day, but agreed to meet us at 13:30 as we had to return to the ship by 16:00).
After spending the morning going down the Grand Canal, visiting the Rialto Bridge and the “mandatory” gondola tour, we met Rossana in St Mark’s Square. First in to the Cathedral, then a guided tour to all the things the avarage tourist nevers sees or walks past and does not notice. And as we walked so much information of the history of Venice from a marshy laggon to the beautiful city it is now.
Thank you Rossana for a wonderfull afternoon. I highly recommend her services to anybody who wants to learn about the real Venice. If we visit Venice again, Rossana will be getting another e-mail to book her time.
